Ebook's Done: So let the Blessings Come
By Library Romp - 4:24 PM
Well
the summer Reading Program is officially over and “Little
Reader” won a prize for reading so many books! Unfortunately
it was a Little Tikes Tricycle, and we don’t have any toddlers in the house. So we decided to let them raffle it off and use
the money raised to buy more books. Our romp is getting us close in finishing a
majority of the children’s section, so yes they do need to keep adding more
books. Getting back to the reading
awards, I did promise my girl a Dolphin Beach Basket since the prizes allotted for
her age were for younger tots. So tonight
I’ll search Amazon for dolphin things for a seven year old girl. Any ideas welcomed? I’ve already got the beach part of her basket
figured out, which will include beachy things like sun glasses, a monogrammed
towel, and of course the infamous Teen Beach Movie Dance Along. It’s only been seen five times and apparently
that’s not enough. - Well, that is to a seven year old girl who thinks she’s a teenager. I’m sure going to miss our daily teen Disney shows
when school starts, of which I’ve come quite accustomed to.
So now that summer is winding down, we are in
school prep mode. My oldest daughter asked
me for Jeggings today?? Do I even ask! The teen
fashion changes so often round here, I can’t keep up with what’s hot and what’s
not. I was an 80’s and 90’s girl, but have
given up trying to convince my kids I was once cool, in, hip, the bomb. - Didn’t
we all!

Not one for numbers, but insects trying to figure out how to split 13 evenly was a hoot! In sum, Ralf and Flora can’t figure out what to do with the unlucky 13 so they invite friends over to divide the beans. Equally fun was the extension we did after the book. Little Reader was convinced it could be divided evenly just like opening a book in the middle, so she took out grapes and began putting them into equal piles. And just like in the story our 13th bean disappeared. “What’s the dog eating?”

I have to inject here
and ask if anyone can tell me how this happened? I have a beautiful lime green vine running
rampant through the yard. When I pulled on it this thing popped out of the ground! It might be some sort of mutant sweet potato,
but not sure? I might mention here that the dog doesn’t
like it. She barks at it when we show it
to her. Creepy right!

It’s done, I managed to finish my EBook last
week. If You Want Something, You Must First Give! is now
available. In case you’ve missed my
previous posts, this romp has pushed me into making it happen. Meaning, without further delay and excuses
I’m writing, publishing, and bringing words to others. Amazing right!
And
since your curious about the new book, let me elaborate. Read on my friends…
Introduction
We all want things we can not have and often
need things we can not get. So where do
we turn when things are not working out and our needs are not being met? This leads us to begin questioning our
choices and wondering if we need to change our actions. The good news is we have the answers right in
front of us. In fact they’ve always
been there, we just have to listen and follow His word.
In the hope of finding how to bring both
financial and everyday Blessings into my life I turned to the Bible. And what I found was profound, bringing an
abundance of Blessings that I didn’t know God was just waiting to give me.
Did
you know the theme of giving or being generous is cited in the Scripture 1,713
times, therefore making this a highly emphasized theme in the Bible. So where are you with the whole giving
thing? I hope to show you how crucial
giving is in your life, especially if it’s financial peace you’re looking
for. It’s time for you to begin sowing and reaping your
harvest, so that you can receive your blessings.
I’m stopping here, otherwise we would
be getting to the meat of the book. I’ll
conclude with this, If you want
something, you must first give and this will change your life in ways
unimaginable.

Delightfully interactive where the reader is given clues to guess what
the picture is based on the silhouette and rhyme. You
may think you have a logical answer, but in turning the page you’ll be filled
with wacky giggles. I love reads that
stretch the imagination and show the world in different angles. Little Reader mostly loved the pink Flamingo,
and everything else pink for that matter.
She took a pic of a Rosseta Spoonbill. Quality not so great on a 3DS, but you get the idea how wonderfully pink they are.
Yoo-hoo, Ladybug!

Through
vibrant colored toys and familiar objects, an adorable ladybug moves to
different hiding places on each page. A
great eye-spy read for younger children. Although it’s cute, it’s too easy for
a seven year old. And it’s also not a story, but still fun
non-the-less.

Do
you like capers? Well, you’re going to love
how the author chose to use these pickled additives as the star in his story! We all want to be loved, and one caper wants
to be loved by children, not just adults.
But will the children ever love him as much as Lollipop? The moral not contrite, but humorously
showing how we shouldn’t try to become something were not for the sake of
others. Whether you’re a caper or a
lollipop you are unique and perfect just the way you are ;-)
On the topic of candy I found a sweet Pinterest
idea. With Jolly Ranchers, wax paper, and lollipop sticks I attempted to
replicate handmade colorful lollipops. The first few tries failed something
awful, with sticking candy and paper making it a non-edible mess. Yes, I followed directions from Pinterest, but
it did not look like theirs at all ;-(
But after trial and error we placed the
Jolly Ranchers straight on a greased pan, and they came off perfectly!
The Giant Jam Sandwich
By Lord, John Vernon
This
70’s childhood favorite made it into our library bag, and found it as charming
today as I did back then. In the town of Itching Downs they had a
big problem, terrorizing wasps. And what
a better way to get rid of them by building a giant jam sandwich to trap them! This one’s whimsical with detailed artwork and
will stretch the imagination of any child.
You need to get your hands on a copy of this one! Towards the end Little Reader wanted to know what happened to the wasp sandwich,
and she guessed it spot on.

A message received on
how hard work pays off and being lazy doesn’t, but with a little bit of
trickery. Hare tricks Bear to use his land to for growing food
for his family. Letting Bear
decide whether he wants to eat the tops or bottom works out, that is for Hare getting
the best harvest for himself. Cute,
funny, and even a little veggie learning along the way.
My Big Dog
By Stevens, Janet
Merl
is a typical cat, enjoying his space and everything that belongs to him. But that changes when a small slobbery pup
moves in. So what does Merl do, he runs
away hoping to find a better deal. And where
he ends up gets him to rethink his plan.
Not going to be a spoiler, but can a cat even resist droopy eyes and wet
kisses from an adorable Golden Retriever.
Silly, sweet, and in this case the grass was not greener on the other side.

A
wacky sibling read. Sophie learns what
her parents said about the new baby is not true. Babies in no way are cute,
sweet, or precious. In fact
they look like aliens and act like monsters.
But like all babies they grow up and change, and so does Sophie’s
opinion as her brother begins to become more interesting.
